Steps to Becoming a Portable Farmer

 1) Figure out  what size Portable Farms™ Aquaponic Systems  would you like to buy that will meet your own specific requirements.  Do you want to grow food for a family of 4? or, 8 ? or, a group of 25 or more ? Are you interested in growing more than your family needs and selling the surplus of vegetables and fish for additional income?

 2) Second, walk around your yard and see where you'd like to put your farm. ....... you can put it in your backyard, side yard,or in  a field, pasture , or driveway perhaps.   Maybe your garage, urban rooftop,  basement, barn, porch, hoop house, or purchase a greehouse to house it .

3) What climatic considerations are there for your geographic location? Please note: If you decide to put your Portable Farms™ Aquaponic Systems  outdoors, and you live in a cold climate, your farm will require a structure of some kind (such as a greenhouse, enclosed porch, or outbuilding) that has adequate insulation, lighting, and a heat source to maintain maximum production year round.  And, if you have a basement, you can always put it there if you add grow lights.

4)  You may be more  interested in vegetables than fish or vice versa so your kit should address that.  The Portable Farms™ Aquaponic Systems are sized according to your needs with the parts and components specific for each unit so figure out how you want to configure your system.

A Portable Farm™ in warm, tropical climates requires shading to protect the young plants.   Most likely, you will want to cover your greenhouse or hoophouse with shade cloth during the summer months.  Plants generally stop photosynthesizing above 95 degrees so fans and vents are needed during the heat of summer.  These are accessories you can order with your greenhouse.
